Quilter Kimberlie Davis began satisfying her quilting passion
in 1997. She started out as an amateur quilter and quickly
became intrigued with everything quilty (addicted is the
more common term). She admired and collected the immense,
wonderful and sometimes seemingly endless selection of fabrics.
She fell in love with amazing, time saving tricks and tools
and, in the process, suddenly found herself surrounded and
mentored by an abundance of fellow quilters she would now
and forever call her friends.
Over the years she has honed her skill and now considers
herself an accomplished quilter. She loves the process of
fabric selection and then creating her own designs and patterns
or utilizing an existing pattern from the fabulous array
of designers on the market today. Creating each piece is
like a painting….it can take weeks or months to complete
from the initial design phase to the final process of turning
the binding.
Her daughter, Kennedie, now 13, is also becoming quite the
accomplished quilter. She started quilting at the age of
5 sewing scraps at her own sewing machine next to her mother
Kimberlie. She now has completed several quilts with her
mom assisting as needed. Kimberlie is proud her daughter
has taken up the artistry of quilt making and hopes it brings
her as much pleasure. You may, from time to time, find a
quilt offered that is jointly made by the mother and daughter
artistic duo.
Quilts
can be nostalgic, perky, woodsy or western … whatever the
feel, theme or overall suggestion the quilt impresses upon
you, it is hoped quilts bring you years of pleasure and
joy and an appreciation for this amazing historical artform
combining function with form and beauty.
